Washington State Director of Agriculture to attend Leadership Summit

WSDA Director SandisonFood Northwest is pleased to announce that Derek Sandison, Washington State Director of Agriculture, will attend the opening evening reception and dinner of the annual Food Northwest Leadership Summit, to be held at the Willows Lodge in Woodinville, WA. The Leadership Summit brings together food and beverage processors and renowned experts for in-depth discussions on industry issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the Director and chat about his work on the future of food processing.

Director Sandison was appointed in 2015 by Governor Inslee to oversee the Department of Agriculture and the agency’s many responsibilities for food, including animal health, plant inspections, food safety, and marketing the state’s agricultural products regionally and globally. Prior to his role running the Department of Agriculture, the Director oversaw the Washington Department of Ecology’s Office of the Columbia River.
